Hello Mr. Glööckler,
Good evening at the CEONITE Ball in Nuremberg. Welcome.
Good evening, everyone. It’s wonderful to be here.
I am very happy to see you.
Oh my goodness, if you want to know exactly, I designed my first dress for my aunt when I was six years old.
So we don’t really want to talk about it, but to tell the truth, 54 years, yes.
That wasn’t professional yet, but it looked professional in the end.
There was no reason for it; my aunt was a seamstress, and it was a time when people still dressed up.
I still remember my grandmother and my aunt, who I know, never sitting down to breakfast without their curlers in.
So they always got dressed up every day. And she was always dressed a bit like the Queen.
Long skirts over long jackets and shoes, bags, everything in this look, and her feet Long skirts, long jackets,
and the shoes, bags, everything in that look, and her feet
were always a little swollen over the shoes, I remember that too.
It’s fabulous, we smile and enjoy ourselves.
No, my inspiration was actually my very unpleasant childhood and a violent father, under whom my mother suffered greatly,
and the fact that I decided at the age of six to make all women princesses,
to create a better world.
Oh, that hits right at the heart, that’s so beautiful. And you succeed very well at that. I’m always amazed by
the outfits you create, and when I see them, I think to myself, “Ah, Mr. Glööckler.”
Well, my profession is also my calling, and that’s the beauty of it, and that’s why there are always new princesses
and there’s still plenty to do, and since I come from a family of entrepreneurs, we don’t have anything like retirement.
We don’t know such a thing. You work and then you drop dead, yes, at some point. But then you
somehow stop, I don’t know that from my circle of friends, but you work as long as you can.
I could also imagine that one would miss that very much.
Well, what else can you do? Stare out the window all day?
So that’s another phenomenon, that people can’t wait to finally get rid of their job.
Why don’t they quit earlier and do something else? Yes, then I always hear, yes, but I can’t do that,
but anyone can. Anyone can look for another job, one that they enjoy, and then they quit
in their mid-60s and have to find hobbies because they need to fill their time. Somehow that’s strange.
Yes, that’s right, you’re correct.
I also decide on my outfit quickly, but usually on the same day, not the day before.
And the older I get, the more I have my own style, so I already have my outfits ready.
I pair the jacket with pants and then add this and that, otherwise it becomes too exhausting for me
to constantly rethink everything from scratch. That’s too much for me with the number of outfits
I wear and need throughout the year. However, I also change my look very quickly and
get bored with things very quickly, and I always have a very clear style and then dress
according to my mood, how I feel at the moment: “I make the world the way I like it.”
And when I feel like, oh, today I’ll wear red and tomorrow black,
it’s usually black. I love black because I think I’m already expressive enough, so
my outfit doesn’t have to be flashy as well.
It suits me very well, cream. I really like black, I also think red is great, but somehow
I feel most comfortable in black at the moment, and you don’t always see black as black, and there are boring
black suits and there are also interesting black suits.
But last time they wore some and they were sensationally chic.
Yes, because I have a slipped disc today, so I have no idea. Only smaller heels, that wouldn’t be a good idea,
but you don’t always have to wear the same thing. At the moment, they’re staying in the closet, but I hope that this
will soon be over and then they’ll come out again. Maybe they’re also to blame for the slipped disc.
Maybe they played a part in it, I don’t know.
Well, hopefully it will be fine again soon.
Well, it’ll be fine, weeds don’t die, as they say, we’ll manage. Somehow we’ll manage,
you have to think positively.
Ja absolut, das überstrahlt alles und richtet alles wieder gerade.
The mind heals the body.
No, I didn’t manage to do that.
I arrived here, and you know how reliable the German railways are, so we arrived at the last minute
and I only had a very short time to change, even though I should have been there on time, which is why I
didn’t get to see anything of Nuremberg.
But I think that tonight I’ll get to see some of the most interesting things that Nuremberg has to offer, at least but I
believe that tonight
I will see some of the most interesting things that Nuremberg has to offer, at least at the moment.
Yes, there are certainly a few other things, but today I am in a very interesting place.
Yes, the CEONITE ball is absolutely fascinating. Every year, the organizers come up with such a wonderful program.
So there’s never a dull moment; it’s always lively.
And wonderful food and nice conversations—it’s really very pleasant and very nice.
Yes, I can only confirm that.
Mr. Glööckler, I’m glad you took the time to do this interview with me.
You’re welcome.
And I wish you a wonderful evening.
I wish you the same, and your viewers, listeners, and anyone
who hears and sees it and enjoys hearing and seeing it.
Thank you very much.
Thank you, goodbye.
