Honorary- und General Consulates Visiting Nuremberg 2024

Schlagzeilen-Headlines from City Hall

“Honorary- and General Consulates Visiting Nuremberg”

“This year, we have 168 stalls or booths at the Christkindlesmarkt, including our partner cities.”

“Here, our partner cities present their delicacies and specialties from their regions.” “At our Christkindlesmarkt,
you’ll primarily find handicrafts, Christmas items, and gifts.” “We pay close attention to this,
and this is our unique selling point—what’s called a USP in modern terms—we are a traditional market,
with a focus on tradition. That’s why we have 80/20. 20% is culinary, like bratwurst and mulled wine,
and 80% is really handicrafts, gift items, and booths with handcrafted products.”

“The market is very busy, as you may have noticed. It’s the weekend, and it’s wonderful that people from all over
the world are flocking to us.” “So far, it’s going very well, and maybe you’ve already heard one or two languages?”

“I’ve heard a lot of English conversations, but also Italians, Spaniards – the whole world is at home with us or visiting :)”

“I envisioned our tour starting with a walk through the partner cities’ market, we’ll take a quick look
there and then head into the main market from above. I’ve included a few stops; the first is at Hauptmarkt 18,
at Moritz Krug, who has nativity scenes on offer.”

“Then, we’ll pass by our newly designed stage – admire the decorations and the lighting, and then we’ll
go to the right into an alley where I’ll introduce you to 3 booths. Since it’s quite crowded and difficult
in a large group, I suggest we head back up and have a hot drink at the

“Feuerzangenbowle.”

“The structure of the market: We have 3 groups represented here.” “Firstly, the showmen – you’ll mostly find
them at the booths, bratwurst stands, and mulled wine stalls.” “The market traders, who go to markets
all year round and sell their products, and then the largest group, the families – we’re very proud
of them. They come only to the Christkindlesmarkt, they work the rest of the year at companies like Siemens,
Bosch, and many others, take time off, work overtime, and produce their

“Zwetschgenmännle”

or their products throughout the year, to then spend 4-5 weeks at the market selling their goods.”
“We are very proud of that, and that’s exactly what makes the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt special.”
“Look forward to many smells and impressions, and make sure to dress warmly – it’s cold outside.”
“Then we’ll take a short walk through the Christkindlesmarkt and the partner cities’ market.”
