Peter Maffay – 55 Years on Stage – „WE LOVE ROCK’N’ROLL”
Peter Maffay and Anastacia Farewell Tour Munich 2024
In 2024, Peter Maffay, together with his band and Anastacia, will be on the Farewell Tour 2024 traveling across Germany.
Peter Maffay rocks out with his band, Anastacia, and 20,000 fans in Munich’s Königsplatz.
On June 28, 2024, Peter Maffay took the stage riding a Harley Davidson and kicked off with “Schatten in die Haut tätowiert”
(Tattoos in the Skin). The fans were ecstatic.
After 55 years on stage, Peter Maffay’s enthusiasm, along with that of his band, remains undiminished.
“WE LOVE ROCK’N’ROLL” and the audience rocks and celebrates with enthusiasm.
It’s hard to stand still. The fans know almost all the lyrics and sing along. A very special atmosphere fills the space,
as if everyone has known each other forever and are one big family. Peter says, “I see many familiar faces here;,
some of them are from 3-4 generations and some I even know by name.”
Peter is a very personable individual, he truly sees the people, and the fans appreciate him greatly.
Peter has a very warm-hearted nature and draws people in with his heartfelt warmth. For over 20 years,
he has been dedicated to helping children who face difficulties in life through his Tabaluga Foundation.
Peter Maffay invites these children and gives them a beautiful time away from their daily lives,
allowing
them to recharge and take away wonderful and extraordinary experiences and memories.
In addition, he offers housing groups, diverse therapy options, and children’s homes to help heal young souls.
The Tabaluga Children’s Foundation is a place of warmth and love, and Peter and his band share this love and
warmth with the audience at every performance.
This beautiful energy is immediately felt in the heart.
Peter introduces his fellow musicians individually:
Steffi Stephan on bass, Ken Taylor on bass, and “Frank Dietz –
guitarist:
He plays the guitar so melodiously,
like hardly anyone else.”
“Each has their own way of playing, their own way of being.”
“The individual personality in their playing comes through.
It’s so nice when, for example, several guitarists are on stage and they
arrange themselves so that each one
has space and room. This also shows a lot of respect for each other, as one simply
accommodates and respects
the other in the interplay.”
Words that touch and show appreciation for his colleagues.
It is very rare for a band to be introduced with such heartfelt warmth
and attention to detail.
“I have always claimed that the scale has 9 tones.” “And others said, ‘Nonsense, Maffay, if you understood music,
you’d know that the scale has 8 tones.’ ‘The 9th tone is the good tone, without which there is no music,
and n
ot in society either.'”
And it’s the same with us in the band. There’s one who is relentless in his style of playing, very, very organized,
very intense, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal – Peter Kellner.
We owe many beautiful songs to him, and he has also been instrumental in his son following in his footsteps.
Experiencing both of them on stage is an event for us tonight, and I hope it is for you as well.
I’m thrilled that he’s
with us: Jean Chuck Kravetz.
He comes from a country where music is played very well, a country that lies between others, bridging in every way.
And that’s how it is in our collaboration – a wonderful artist, a fantastic guitarist – Jamie Miles.
And Jan Becker, Tom Beaks, Chris Kramer, Linda Tourdosio, and Chaly Klauser.
Multi-instrumentalist, piano, organ, accordion, and guitar – Pascal Kravetz, who can play one of the most
challenging
instruments after just a few minutes: the Didgeridoo. A few years ago, they were in Australia,
and who could play
this instrument after just 10 minutes? It was Pascal.
And Leon Taylor, Peter’s son Yaris.
On drums and with us the longest, and few can match him – he has shaped the band like hardly anyone else – Bertram Engel.
When do fans ever get to hear so much about the band and the individual musicians?
Rarely, and the audience listens attentively and visibly enjoys it.
Peter Maffay thanks his fans for their years of support and collaboration and talks about the Tabaluga Foundation,
which has been around for 20 years.
“Each year, about 1,400-1,500 children visit the foundation, taking a small break from their sometimes overwhelming
fate.
’It’s a drop in the ocean, but it is a drop, and a drop of hope.’”
“There are many hundreds of thousands who don’t stand in the spotlight as we are fortunate to do,
who do this work on
an incredible scale.” “I know that in our society, there are hundreds of thousands who do similar
work as we do, and these
people deserve a big round of applause. And because of this, tonight we are not just musicians,
but also messengers.
People say to me: “Peter has so much success and he has always stayed down-to-earth; he’s really a great guy!”
“The German Postcode Lottery—you might be surprised, but this is how donations come together to help many
people
overcome difficulties.” “And tonight we have a representative here who probably doesn’t yet know about
her luck, as we
have a little surprise for her.”
“The organization, the association is called ‘Horizont e.V.’ and it was founded by a wonderful colleague, Jutta Speidel.”
”For 27 years—let that sink in—Jutta has been caring for mothers raising their children.
The association provides safe
housing and comprehensive support through two Horizont houses.
And now we are going to invite Jutta to the stage
so we can finally reveal our surprise.”
“Dear Jutta, how wonderful that you are here.” “You’re a rascal,” says Ms. Speidel affectionately with a big smile as she
stands opposite Peter.
”I didn’t know about this!” she says.
”I did,” replies Peter with a smile. “Look, we’ve brought you
something with all our hearts, and I now ask Johannes:
“Johannes, please be so kind…”
“Look at what we have…”
pulls a large check from a huge envelope, reveals one zero after another,
making it very, very suspenseful,
until a check for €100,000 emerges.
“For the wonderful work you do, for the many moms who raise and protect their children.”
Jutta Speidel thanks the people of Munich for this wonderful check from the Postcode Lottery and for the support
that
Munich has provided for 27 years. Jutta can make very good use of the money and announces the construction
of the third
house, announces the summer festival, and highlights the cultural stage ‘Spagat,’ which offers a fantastic
program and has
already won 4 awards.
“Music is crossing all boundaries, just like love does.”
And then there is the little dragon named Tabaluga, who meets the turtle “Nessaja” while trying to quickly become
grown-up
and reasonable, and she says to him: “I am the oldest being in this world and I know what is reasonable!”
“Don’t grow up too quickly, because your childhood, this beautiful quality in life, sometimes it’s absent or lost,
and it’s worth
reclaiming it.” And Peter never wanted to grow up and wrote this song for all the people out there:
“I Never Wanted to Grow Up.” The audience holds up their phones and a sea of lights surrounds the stage.
It is indescribably
beautiful; everyone feels at ease and there is a wonderful atmosphere, as if the people here
in the square have always known
each other, with hearts speaking.
“Over Seven Bridges You Must Go” – this song touches deeply, and who hasn’t experienced such times.
This song has traveled
around the world and is passed down from generation to generation. “And It Was Summer”
– this was Peter Maffay’s first song.
It touches the heart and everyone can picture it, perhaps remembering their
own “first summer.”
“Sunshine in the Night”, “Deeper,” “Love is Forbidden.”
“When We Meet Again” – the song that Johannes Oerding wrote for Peter when Peter’s father passed away
shortly afterward.
This song is so moving, from goosebumps to tears in the eyes, and the memories that people
carry in their hearts when they
had to say goodbye to a loved one.
Yaris “He is also on the Farewell Tour “ and is presenting his own song. He also has a band and will be going on tour in the fall.”
Anastacia: “I’m Outta Love”, “You Shook Me All Night Long”, “Left Outside Alone”, “Just You”
A truly wonderful evening is coming to an end. The audience had a great time, as did Peter, the band, and Anastacia.
A concert with Peter Maffay and Anastacia is always something special, and with Peter’s band, it’s a feast for the heart
and
soul. It touches deeply, and they really gave their all. What a fantastic concert. These are the experiences that truly
enrich our lives.
