The second division match between 1. FCN and Hannover 96 was energetic and offered many
exciting moments.
The players really went for it, there were a few fouls, yellow cards were handed out,
goals were scored, and 1. FCN went into the winter break with a 2-1 win over Hannover 96.
Congratulations!
Hannover 96 clearly controlled the game in the first half and could have won,
but then we had a lapse in concentration where we were outnumbered at the back, where in deep defense
two players went in, the other two players didn’t cover, and then we conceded the
long-range shot to make it 1-1. That turned the first half on its head to a certain extent.
We came out and still wanted to continue playing consistently, but we didn’t concede the same goal,
but a similar goal with a long shot. With the 1-1, when our two center backs ran through at the back,
they were outnumbered, the player wasn’t free from the goal, which he handled well at that moment.
With the 2-1, it became a different game. That’s when we lost our thread – our clarity,
what we actually wanted, to get into position, to carry the game forward,
we had enough time. We still had chances to score with 2-3 crosses and set pieces with
headers, and if we had used them consistently or played them out…
But then we lost the game 2-1 here today.
Hannover 96 clearly controlled the game in the first half and could have won.
“Miro, I would like to wish you, your team, and your club all the best for the future.”
I wish you all a Merry Christmas, stay healthy, and have a happy New Year.”
“He sees it similarly, he says.”
Jan Reichart kept us in the game with some excellent saves, which made it possible to
equalize. Then we made a few changes at halftime so that we could be more direct
and still play even with the goalkeeper + 1. I think we
always defended forward, were hungry, were hungry for the ball, for the passes they play into the middle.
Footwork and playfulness—what Hannover has to offer on the pitch looks really good.
It’s very difficult to play against them, but when you consider that we had eight players out sick and
then Julian Just, who has been playing all the time, and players like that are out, and the same on the other side with Hannover,
then on the other side against Hannover, I can only compliment my team.
The way they fought their way in, Tom Baack played and filled every gap with his running.
Then he got a yellow card, and I had to take him off myself.
But I’m incredibly happy that we launched a counterattack and took the lead
at home and defended it until the end. That’s why, going into the last game of the year,
I’m very, very proud of the team and very satisfied.
Have fun, Susanne Panhans
